So it's difficult to believe since I'm still using heat at night, but eventually Summer will be here and I can go outside without losing digits again. And time to make plans for the scant few weekends of good weather that we get. I'll probably go to Waterfire in Providence again. There's a labyrinth out in western MA that I want to see. Maybe even make it out to Tanglewood. And I definitely want to visit the Gorey House. Anybody up for a caravan to that? |

Alright, I'm getting rid of my heat press. I've only used it a few times, and the previous owner has only used it a few times as well.
Now before I go and try and list it on ebay and or craigslist I wanted to post it up here to see if there are any takers.
I bought the thing for $500.00, but I'm willing to let it go for $100.00. Catch is the thing is heavy so if someone wants it they are going to have to pick it up.
Looks like this:

So, I get to have another MRI today and see a new specialist on Monday, I think. Actually, come to think of it, I have two different doctor appointments on Monday, I should maybe cancel one. I have gotten to see all sorts of interesting details about the internal structure of my body. Unfortunatly, some of them don't looks so good. Spinal fusing isn't out of the question, which is kind of creepy, and that's not even getting to what's going to be determined to be wrong with my shoulder/clavicle that's disconnecting if I lay down. Bleh... |

Vegas Day III
Happy Mothers Day! We went to the QUA Spa at the new Caesar's Palace tower. OMG. I have been to many spas but this one definitely took the cake for me. Amazing amenities and service. A eucalyptus steam room, roman mineral pools, tea room and an arctic ice room... its cold and has fake snow to close your pores after sweating your ass off. The whole facility had waterfalls everywhere, dark slate walls.. There was a whole bar with free stuff: fruit, pretzels, water, tea, coffee, juices and the extra special touch, organic dark chocolate bars. I ended up getting a massage/facial combo and let me tell you, that was some well spent money... I walked out of there in absolute bliss and mush... not even the dumb bitch screaming her bag got stolen from the lockers phased me one bit. Damn woman made a spectacle of herself saying she was calling the cops and wanted all our info... nice try lady. I was too busy basking in my post spoiling glory to really give a shit. Uh, what? purse? stolen? uh... Who cares! It is the best spa I have ever been to and now I am gonna be all sad comparing it to every one I go to. Oh well... incentive to return sometime.
After the spa we got dolled up and had dinner at the Wynn buffet. It was decent for buffets I guess but after eating at Fiamma and Bouchon it just paled in comparison. I don't understand why is it that people practically fight over the damn crab legs. Fucking nasty. I like crab mind you but not cold and not at a buffet... tell me white people.. why do you pile up on the crab legs like they're going out of style? I just don't get it.
Anyway, the last day was all about the chill. After dinner we went back to the room to chill. Uneventful to some but for me it was all about the relax and I was ready to come home to my familia.
The Aftermath
I have been home for a couple days now and despite the sinus infection I picked up from all the traveling I have done in the past month, I would say that going away for those three days really accomplished a lot more than I bargained for. I didn't realize how necessary it was to get some solid time to myself but it really, truly was. I came back very refreshed and with a much cleaner outlook.. some of you know where my headspace has been so this was so necessary on so many levels I can't even begin to explain.
Next mothers day and you want to do something nice for the mama in your life? send her away for a day or two where she can turn things off, be on her terms, sleep when she wants, can get spoiled, have a warm uninterrupted meal and relax. Sure I would have liked to spend the day with my family, but my frame of mind really needed this much much more. It really was the best gift Josh could have given me and I am eternally grateful to him for holding down the fort and letting me get away... not only did he do amazing but he helped me start the weaning process with Reza.
Last night she woke up once, asked and I said no, she cried for like a minute and went back to sleep. I am honestly shocked how well she is doing with this... I expected endless hours of crying and lots of sleepless nights. I didn't realize just how much this was taking out of me until it has been removed. Sure, I am sad that the "nursing relationship" has come to an end but I did it for a lot longer than most, we got what we needed from it and it's time.
Save for being sick and all... Now that Reza is off the boob I am going to really focus on my body which hasn't been "mine" for well over 2 years. I have gained a chunk of weight over the past few months, a good 15 lbs. Getting weighed at the Dr. yesterday was totally depressing. I think it's totally stress related and when I stress I mow. I need to get my health back in order and really establish an exercise routine which has been very inconsistent. Getting the 2nd car is going to be very helpful in this department. Soon! Our stimulus payment has been scheduled so that is going to the 2nd car fund, stat!
So yeah, much better headspace and as soon as this sinus infection clears out, even better.
OH and I am suppppppppper stoked that DJ Lance Rock is opening up for The Aquabats in July @ HOB!! So Reza is going to her first concert in July to see her homie. I am STOKED to take her to this. So if any of you have tips on where I can order her some safety headphones for her ears, I am all ears. This is going to be epic!! |

No shower-mishaps today! Hooray! Strange dreams though. But not bad ones I don't think. Had Jacque over last night so she could find a dress. That was fun :) I like helping people shop :D :D And it was such a lovely night for a walk after too! I wanted to get my bicycle out of the garage to take Jacque to the bus stop but I got chicken. I have not used it since I moved back from Guelph. I used to ride on the roads here when I was in high school but I guess I've grown more frightened as I've aged some. My bike is so awesome though, which makes it very sad that it's sitting in my garage. I'm gonna have to try and change that.
I'm on the last chapter of Blue Covenant:Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water. It's entitled "Is Canada's Water Safe?". It is making me so angry to read. Get this quote from George Bush about Canada's water: "a lot of people don't need it" but "when you head south and west, we need it." ..... *guh* (i added the guh part)
I gotta stop reading this stuff, it makes me so angry! I think my next reading adventure is going to involve rainbows and unicorns! |
